Following the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation in May 2018 we have to set out how we use and hold members’ data.
1. We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy as a member and our nominated person for data protection is the Hon. Secretary.
2. We require your consent to collect and store personal data relevant to our activities.
3. We collect personal data from you when you complete your membership form. This data includes your name and address and it may also include, if you wish, your telephone number and email address. We want to ensure that your personal data is accurate and if any of your information changes please inform the Hon. Secretary.
4. We use your information to let you know about our activities, particularly our programme of talks.
5. We will not share your information with any other person, society or organisation without your express permission.
6. We take appropriate means to ensure the information you provide is secure, accurate and up-to-date and that it is only kept for as long as you are a member.
7. You have the right to correct or remove inaccurate information and to have it deleted when you cease to be a member.
